Training:
We provide generous budgets for continuing education training, sales training, and specialized training provided by the Institute for Work Comp Professionals. Connell is the exclusive Springfield area agency for the IWCP. This training is essential for our "Lead with Comp" sales approach for commercial, group health, and group benefits. Our most recent IWCP training took place in Philadelphia, Las Vegas, Washington D.C., and Laguna Beach, California.
Staff & Technology:
Producers at many agencies spend much of their time doing their own service work, fixing computer problems, and working with small unprofitable accounts. At Connell Insurance we provide a full-time IT manager, AMS information system, and a large support staff. This extensive investment in technology and support allows our producers to telecommute and keeps them in front of clients, not behind a desk.
Carriers:
We have access to the most competitive standard carriers in the business: Allied, United Fire, Hawkeye, Acuity, State Auto, EMC, Hartford, Chubb, Travelers, Safeco, Hanover, and others. We also have access to a variety of mono-line work comp carriers and we are the exclusive SW Missouri agency for the Missouri Restaurant Association Insurance Trust. Our group health and benefits department accesses a variety of group health and benefits markets.
Value-added Work Comp Services:
As mentioned above, we are the Springfield area's exclusive IWCP agency. In addition, Randall Gammill joined us in 2004 after working with the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation for 12 years. His background and expertise provides a competitive underwriting and service advantage over any other agency in SW Missouri. All new producers, regardless of experience, are trained in Connell's exclusive "Lead with Comp" sales approach. This approach has helped Connell close several new six-figure plus work comp accounts in the past 24 months.
Prospects in the Springfield Market:
Many agencies in Springfield already have the best Springfield prospects identified and reserved for their current producers. Although Connell Insurance has a strong presence in Springfield, there are still many opportunities to build a large book of business. Best of all, you don't have to constantly compete with your own co-workers to get new business.
Target Clients:
We prefer to target contractors (especially bonding), manufacturers, distributors, large work comp, and employee benefits. In 2006, we gained access to very competitive carriers for schools so we want to expand this market also. We have access to all banking carriers and already have a strong presence in this market, but there are still many prospects remaining. We write a large number of restaurants, marinas, hotels, resorts, and golf courses in SW Missouri, but we would be very supportive of producers interested in targeting the Lake of the Ozarks region.
Target Applicants:
Our extensive investment in technology, support staff, and training allows us to seek men and women without prior insurance or even sales experience. However, a college degree or solid sales experience is preferred for applicants without insurance backgrounds. We are very interested in applicants with human resources, banking, medical sales, media sales, real estate sales, construction supply, or hospitality backgrounds. Our target markets are Springfield, Bolivar, Lebanon, Lake of the Ozarks, West Plains, Joplin, Carthage, Monett, and Neosho. Connell Insurance is an EEOC employer.
Pay & Benefits:
We offer new business commission splits up to 60% and renewals up to 40%. We also offer a very competitive base salary and generous draws for the right sales professionals. Our last new producer earned $96,000 in the second year! Group health, life, dental, and long-term disability are provided to all employees at no cost. Dependant coverage is available at net cost. We also offer a 401k with employer percentage contributions, cafeteria plan, and voluntary benefits. Producers also receive cell phone, entertainment, and travel allowances.
