2010 Legal Update Popular As Ever
Attendees learn about Employment Law and Wellness

Connell successfully concluded another event in their popular Seminar Series on Friday morning. In what has become a spring tradition, the keynote topic was a legal update on employment law; but due to overwhelmingly positive reviews last November, the topic of Wellness was also a focus of this seminar. The seminar ran from 8:00 to 11:30 at the University Plaza hotel in Springfield Missouri.
Attorney at Law Daniel K Wooten encouraged audience participation as he discussed changes and issues specifically related to Missouri employment law. An examination of actual cases proved a great way to review and understand exactly how Missouri's legal statutes impact local HR managers. Devra Gower then led a lively discussion about how to motivate and encourage employees to live healthier lives. It became clear right away that employee health and wellness – both physical and mental – has a direct correlation to HR costs, and thus, the bottom line. Three guests shared their personal success stories at weight loss and improved health, which led into an informal Q & A session with audience members. Connell's own Randall Gammill welcomed attendees, introduced the speakers, and provided commentary throughout.
