Connell Insurance, with co-sponsor ApexNetwork Physical Therapy, just concluded "SW Missouri's 5th Annual Work Comp Conference". The packed event was held on Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Branson Convention Center with over 100 business executives in attendance. Featured speakers were Connell partner Randall Gammill; Jerry Harmison, Attorney at Law at Harmison & Pearman; and Timothy Wilson, Administrative Law Judge in the Springfield Office of the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation.
Mr. Gammill discussed significant changes to work comp that went into effect on July 1 and reviewed the many aspects of work comp claims management, with the overall goal of reducing costs. Returning by popular demand, Jerry Harmison provided an update on real-world, recent legal trends and case law currently developing in the workers' compensation courts. Judge Wilson shared his "Views from the Bench", giving procedural and practical tips to manage the adjudication process when dealing with workplace injuries.
